April 16th we will be building a hoop house in Ryan and Patricia's back yard. Our growing season here is short due to our elevation (7000 feet), so we are hoping this will give us much needed frost protection.
The Dine College Land Grant Office will be graciously showing us how to build this structure. They bought the needed supplies (with our money of course), will be bringing manpower (interns and any interested community members) and all the tools needed. They are excited to promote community gardening and sustainable living and are volunteering their time and efforts at the cost of lunch provisions! A great deal if you ask me!
